The Art of Skinner
Oakland-based artist Skinner is recognized for his vivid, psychedelic and otherworldly art - an agile mix of horror, humour, sci-fi and fantasy. His highly detailed line work, skillful blend of color and composition, make his art amongst the coolest, raddest and most immersive ever.
Rooted in the ‘70s & ‘80s, Skinner created a unique style with rich stories and a thoughtful narrative approach.
The Skinner universe is filled with mystical creatures, dark magic and cursed artifacts, inspired partly by the old school Dungeons & Dragons lore and the cover art of his youth and partly by the pages of illustrated cult magazines such as Heavy Metal and Eerie but also from his love for comics in general.

From the intricate patterns and flamboyance of french sci-fi pioneer Philippe Druillet to the dynamism and energy of the legendary Jack Kirby, the benign influence of the retro masters of the genre is also expressed throughout his work.

Enraciné dans les années 70s et 80s, l’artiste originaire de Oakland, Skinner, est reconnu pour son art éclatant, psychédélique et surnaturel - mélangeant habilement horreur, humour, science-fiction et fantastique. Son trait d’encre et ses lignes très détaillées, sa maîtrise de la couleur et de la composition font de son art parmi le plus cool et immersif que nous ayons vu.L’Univers de Skinner est rempli de créatures mystiques, de magie noire et d’artefacts maudits, inspirés en partie par les traditions et les couvertures de Donjons et Dragons de son enfance et en partie par les pages de magazines cultes tel Heavy Metal mais aussi par son amour pour la bande-dessinée de façon générale.
